but Tanya Kach's story is just as, if not more, twisted than all of
these girls, whose ordeals turned them into household names and
sparked worldwide panic over our children's safety.
14 year old Tanya left her parent’s
house for school in 1996, but never arrived. A missing person's
investigation threw up no leads and Tanya was presumed dead-until she
showed up ten years later, having been held captive by her school's
security guard, Tom Hose, who lived just a stone’s throw from her
parent's house.
Questions and gossip abounded in the
small town-how could her captors parents, who lived with him, have
not known anything; why had she not escaped sooner, considering the
freedoms she was afforded; and, most sensationally, did Tanya stage
her own capture so that she could be with Hose?
