Rod Stewart, with his fantastically
highlighted mullet, is first off the block with a Christmas album
release this year and, by way of congratulations, (and probably to
many people’s dismay) it’s being reviewed in mid-November.
You wouldn’t need more than three
guesses to predict the entire thirteen track playlist, but that’s a
good thing when it comes to Christmas albums, and Rod has made sure
to croak his way through all the favourites of the season, including
Auld Lang Syne, White Christmas and Let it Snow.
He’s got a
voice that either feels like a cheese grater or warm honey, depending
on your personal propensity for him, but most would fail to be
charmed by Rod’s kookily calming renditions of What Are You Doing
New Year’s Eve? and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
