It’s a big year for real-life
Australian and honorary Brit, Kylie Minogue, and to make sure her
25th year in the music industry doesn’t slip by
unnoticed, she’s released another album (her Best Of came out this
summer) consisting entirely of past hits.
A little more effort has been put into
The Abbey Road Sessions however, with every pop anthem and cheesy
dance floor filler getting either a big band make-over or stripped
down to the bare, acoustic essentials.
While The Locomotion and Better the
Devil You Know were never going to be polished to too high a
standard, even with the help of a full orchestra, some unexpected
gems have been repackaged and, in some cases, bettered by the simpler
delivery which allows the lyrics to shine in their own right without
all the disco production drowning them out.
