CD - Lianne la Havas: Is Your Love Big Enough

The Mercury Prize nominated singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is due to play to a sold out audience at The Cambridge Junction tomorrow (Thursday 28th March), off the back of just one album-Is Your Love Big Enough.

La Havas has produced a broad collection of songs ranging from Café del Mar vibed, Au Cinema, to wisely and harshly worded break-up lament, Forget, (the one you’re most likely to have heard on the radio following it’s release last week) and a vocal marriage made in musical heaven with blues artist, Willy Mason.

Her youthful, velvet voice is the main attraction on each, unique song, pulling everything together and ensuring Is Your Love Big Enough avoids the fate of some varied albums branded as inconsistent and lacking in style.

Lianne is a great alternative to, and a gentler, more intimate performer than the, obviously talented, but perhaps over-exposed vocal powerhouses (Adele, Emelie Sande, etc) dominating the scene.
