Scottish alt-rockers, Biffy Clyro, return after a three year hiatus with their sixth studio album, Opposites.
It’s the band’s affinity for playing live for their fans that saw the biggest gap in Biffy’s recording history between this and their last release, Only Revolutions.
Originally intended to be a ‘pair’ of albums, the double-discs of this release are individually named: The Land at the End of Our Toes and The Sand at the Core of Our Bones.
The two are complete opposites of each other in tone and vibe, with lead singer, Simon Neil, describing The Sand… as exploring the darkness in your past and the difficult things that brought you to this point in life, whereas, The Land… takes a more positive look at the future, offering a more uplifting side to the usual angry, thrashing angst we’re used to hearing from Biffy Clyro.
