If you caught them on Britain’s Got Talent this past summer,
where the cherubic all boys choir came in third, you would have seen this
festive release coming a mile off, but that doesn't mean to say they haven’t
delivered on the warming your cockles front.
Only Boys Aloud have concocted more palatable versions of
the Christmas album staples already peddled by Rod Stewart and Michael Buble
this year, resisting the urge to add cheesy flourishes to White Christmas and
straight-up owning Happy Christmas (War is Over).
They’ve injected this charming, choral collection with one,
genius comedy offering-a cover of Fairytale of New York with Mancunian
comedian, Jason Manford, and Roxy Mitchell from Eastenders taking lead vocals.
Cute, inoffensive background music for a multi-generational
holiday gathering.
