You’d be forgiven for failing to
guess that the most messed-up show to be broadcast on television last
year sprang from the creative loins of the man who brought you Glee,
but Ryan Murphy has indeed proven his range with the violently dark
American Horror Story, the first season of which is now available on
DVD and coincides with the start of the, somehow even more
disturbing, second series, the first episode of which aired last
week.
The Harman family were the focus of
Murphy’s gothic debut and with episode titles including Home
Invasion and Smouldering Children, you can imagine how well their
decision to move in to the appropriately priced ‘Murder House’
panned out.
Completely addictive and very
unsettling but perhaps not quite worth the 18 certification.
