Glam-pop-rock New Yorkers, Scissor Sisters, have returned with their fourth studio album, Magic Hour.
The avant-garde group have again produced a mixed-bag of
musical offerings, but that’s no bad thing as it makes them one of few artists
to please a far-reaching audience with differing tastes.
They’ve also taken care to keep their fingers in the
producing-pie on every track, ensuring their disco roots are retained and not
lost in the trendy stylings of the hip, young producers they’ve taken on.
Calvin Harris, Pharrell Williams, Diplo, Alex Ridha and
Azealia Banks all contributed to this smorgasbord of an album but you’ll be
pleased to know that Scissor Sisters have remained true to their own style and
have also thrown in a couple of those much-loved, under-played ballads that
featured on their first album.
