In
the years before Ringo joined the bowl hair-cutted quartet, The
Beatles were languishing around the bottom of the German pop charts,
trading under the name The Beat Brothers and acting, to all intents
and purposes, as back-up singers for Tony Sheridan, when they
released this album, originally titled, My Bonnie.
This
(re)release is one for the hardcore collectors rather than anyone
looking to get into The Beatles and it certainly won't make the late
George Harrison happy, seeing as he loudly complained of previously
ill-thought out releases of the band's earlier, perhaps unfinished
stuff.
Another
year, another 'exclusive', 'previously released' collection of songs
by the boys from Liverpool before Beatlemania set in.
