The build-up has fizzled out, the day itself has been and
gone and, hopefully, all your houseguests picked up and left on Boxing Day-but
just when you thought the Christmas spirit had abandoned you for another year,
ITV have thoughtfully scheduled a one-off festive film, Panto!, written by
comedian, John Bishop, and acclaimed Coronation Street writer, Jonathan Harvey.
Bishop plays Lewis Loud, a local celebrity due to make his
stage debut in the pantomime, Dick Whittington, but who sees his ambitions
slipping away at a tension-filled dress rehearsal where Loud’s backstage
romance, estranged son and an accident prone Chesney Hawkes collide in
fantastically, theatrical pantomime style.
